EnviroSys Implemented at Ravensthorpe Nickel

May 2007

The SRA team has successfully implemented EnviroSys at the new Ravensthorpe Nickel mine in Western Australia

Ravensthorpe Nickel is a part of BHP Billiton's Nickel West group and construction of the mine and facilities is nearing completion. As such, it was a greenfields site for EnviroSys, with the various monitoring programs set up in EnviroSys relatively early in the mine's life. This meant that there was far less necessity to migrate historical data, which can be a time-consuming job.

The implementation went smoothly, which in part was the result of the extensive expertise accumulated by SRA staff in mining environments since 2002. Having completed the implementation, SRA will continue to support and upgrade the application and train relevant staff.

SRA's Managing Director, Mr. Steve Rowe appreciates the importance of maintaining a close working relationship with the users of the system. "By making sure we are always listening to the people using our systems and providing ongoing site visits, support and training, we help to make EnviroSys optimally productive for the organisations who choose it", he states.

Following from this implementation, further interest has been received from other nickel-related operations.
